A.M. Collaborative’s second season pioneers new exploration, culminates with final showing

The DanceATL Education and Research Committee’s A.M. Collaborative, an innovative program built on artistic integration and partnership, proudly returns for its highly anticipated second season. A.M. Collaborative paired nine interdisciplinary trailblazers this season through a five-month process. These 2021-22 artists will present their four avant-garde creations, plus an additional fifth work by 2020-21 artist Leo Briggs, in a free showcase at The Windmill Arts Center on Saturday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Audience members can enjoy a diverse line-up of fresh artistic merit that encompasses the vast array of backgrounds of its program’s participants. These thoughtfully crafted projects stem from elements of contemporary dance, belly dance, burlesque, lighting design, poetry, visual art, and much more.

A.M. Collaborative thrives on process-driven research and play. Participants are released from all expectations – as well as hierarchy within the artist pairings – and given the artistic freedom to simply be present, connect, grow, and be challenged by each other. The program offers a unique step away from the one-sided educational upper ground of the mentor/mentee dynamic and gives each participant an equal voice throughout the artistic incubation.

While Saturday’s event is free, advance registration is required and can be completed here. Donations are welcome and can be made through the organization’s website. For those unable to attend in-person, DanceATL will also livestream the performance on Facebook. Get to know this season’s artists and learn more about them here.
