Monica Hogan Danceworks ATL to present production at Emory University

Resilient Paradise and Other Works

Emory University Performing Arts Studio

Saturday, October 8th @ 7:30 pm

Sunday, October 9th @ 3:00 pm

Contemporary company Monica Hogan Danceworks is set to debut their first full-length concert of work in Atlanta, GA. This marks the company's first production since establishing permanent residency in ATL in 2021, following nearly a decade in New York City.

The program centers around the Atlanta debut of Resilient Paradise, reconstructed on the outstanding new cast of local company dancers. Resilient Paradise explores the resiliency of the human condition and our headstrong ability – in spite of times of darkness – to challenge melancholy. It examines the ways in which we look to the people around us and small, simple pleasures to push forward and manifest happiness.

The program also features a sampling of other new and existing works from the company repertory. The show is directed and choreographed by artistic director Monica Hogan Thysell and stars the Atlanta company: Aryanna Allen, Audrey Crabtree, Kaitlyn Downs, Emily Hogan, Britanie Leland, Megan Long, Ellie Peterson, and Justine Wasilewski. This production will also feature appearances from guest performers from the original NYC cast: Ellen Brown, Louisa Pancoast, and Chisato Yanagisawa.

Tickets are on sale now: $25 general admission, $15 for students.
